Democrat Primary Runoff Election

The May 22nd Primary Run off Election includes only one race that involves Liberty County voters. That is the run off election for Democratic Candidates for Texas Governor. Only those who voted in the March Democratic Primary or who did not vote in a primary at all are eligible to vote in the run off election Whenever a primary election race has three or more candidates, then state law says one candidate in that race must get more than 50% of the votes or a run off election is triggered The Democratic Run off for Governor is between former Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez and Houston businessman Andrew White. Early voting in Liberty County is 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today through Friday at the following locations. That’s the Jack Hartel Community Building, 318 San Jacinto Street in Liberty; Cleveland Civic Center, 210 Peach Avenue in Cleveland; Dayton Community Center at 801 South Cleveland St. in Dayton and Hardin City Hall, 142 CR 2010 in Hardin. Election Day is Tuesday May 22nd and many voting boxes will be consolidated.
