Wednesday TVE 2017

Wednesday is a busy day at the 109th Trinity Valley Exposition Fair and Rodeo. In addition to the Kiddie Trailride and Opening Day Parade, activities include the Youth Livestock Show, carnival, PRCA Extreme Bull Riding and a free dance featuring Jeff Woolsey. Schools are out over most of Liberty County, and the fairgrounds are a beehive of activity. Wednesday begins with the free Kiddie Trailride at 8 a.m. at the Pickett ranch on State Highway 146 at FM 1011. All horses in that event must have a negative coggins test. There will be hay wagons for those who do not have horses. Then, that Kiddie Trailride joins the end of the TVE Opening Day Parade for a 10 a.m. start. The big parade travels south on Main Street past the courthouse where it turns west on Sam Houston. Grand marshals this year are local veterinarians, Doctors James and Donna Kay Hall, the TVE Western Heritage Award recipients. For those who can’t be there for the TVE Opening Day Parade, KSHN will broadcast it from our position in front of the east side of the courthouse, on Main Street. Then our staff and the crowd moves to the fairgrounds on FM 563. We will be broadcasting from there Wednesday afternoon, all day Thursday and Friday. We’ll have all of the fair judging results as they are released plus interviews and descriptions of what’s taking place across the fairgrounds. Gates open at 11 a.m. Wednesday following the big parade. The huge carnival also springs into action at 11 and it continues until midnight. At the carnival, $35 armbands are good for all rides, as often as you want to ride, Wednesday from 6 till closing. Then, the thrilling PRCA Extreme Bull Riding revs up at 7:30 in the 4,000 seat arena. Next comes the free nightly dance under the covered pavilion with Jeff Woolsey providing the live entertainment. Once more, that’s all Wednesday at the 109th Trinity Valley Exposition Fair and Rodeo. The fairgrounds are located on FM 563, one mile south of U.S. 90 in Liberty. For information, the TVE phone number is 936-336-7455. You can also go online at kshn.com to link to the TVE website – click on the fair logo at the top of our homepage.
