FEMA Deadline Oct. 24

The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center at the Dayton Community Center is open through this Sunday. Residents with questions concerning their FEMA registration can visit face-to-face with a FEMA representative as well as other federal and state officials. The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center is open today through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Again, that’s at the Dayton Community Center, 801 South Cleveland Street, through this Sunday. This important note, FEMA encourages those impacted by Hurricane Harvey to register for federal disaster assistance before next Tuesday’s deadline – that’s October 24. Registration can be done online at DisasterAssistance.gov or by phone at 1-800-621-3362. Officials say registering online can be done without the waits that may be experienced on the telephone. FEMA encourages everyone impacted by Hurricane Harvey to apply for assistance, even if you have insurance. While FEMA does not provide resources for losses already covered by insurance, they may be still able to provide some assistance. That includes situations where your insurance settlement is insufficient to meet your disaster-caused needs. Repeating, that deadline to register for federal disaster assistance is next Tuesday, October 24.
