Now, Liberty County Sheriff’s department reports they have two eye-witness written statements that confirms Anthony Welsh was seen with his infant son riding on the gas tank area of Welch’s motorcycle while on a public highway in the area of Tarkington Prairie in mid-Liberty County. As a result of witness written statements, Cpl. Deputies have made numerous day and night runs on his reported address in an effort to arrest Welch but thus far no arrest has been made.  Anthony Welsh is described as a white male, age 30, 6’-2”, 230 lbs. with brown hair. He may be driving an unknown year black Mustang automobile or a blue pick-up truck with a welding machine in the back. The Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone who may know the whereabouts of Anthony Welch to call the Sheriff’s Office at (936) 336-4500or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-7867and provide that information. All callers to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and a cash reward can be given for your information.  Liberty County Sheriffs Department Captain Ken Defoor reports a man riding a motorcycle with a young child has been arrested. Social Media and the ever presence of cell phone cameras within our everyday society has, captured a very disturbing photo that swept the social media scene like a wild fire. A photo of a man riding a sports bike motorcycle with an infant child sitting in front of him and laying over the gas tank of the motorcycle was taken by a witness on Sunday and calls to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office have been non-stop with both irate citizens wanting to know if this person has been identified. Many citizens who saw on face book the photo of the bike rider called in his identity and what was thought to be his address. Surprisingly, no one called the Sheriff’s dispatcher to report this sighting but Facebook covered it quite well which prompted many calls from both the news media and the general public. Liberty County Corporal  James Hobson began working on the case when enough information had been telephoned in to identify the motorcycle rider and his possible whereabouts. At approximately 4:30 pm Tuesday evening, Cpl. Hobson arrested Anthony Braddick Welsh age 30, at his residence on CR 2224 on an outstanding traffic warrant out of the Deer Park Police Department. Cpl. Hobson is presently contacting possible witnesses to this motorcycle event and developing information that could possibly lead to a more serious charge later.  Under Texas law, no child under five (5) years old shall be a passenger on a motorcycle and any passenger that does ride as a second person on the motorcycle must be seated in a seat that is secured to the back of the motorcycle with hand grips and two foot pegs. Anthony Welsh has been turned over to the Deer Park Police Department on the outstanding traffic warrant and Cpl. Hobson is continuing his investigation for possible future charges here in Liberty County.
