Peavey Resigns

The Hardin school board has accepted the resignation of Superintendent Brandon Peavey. That decision came during a specially called meeting Tuesday night. Hardin school board president Cody Parrish said the board has hired a familiar name to serve as the district’s interim top administrator – that’s former superintendent Bob Parker. He is set to begin work for the district immediately. On May 24, Brandon Peavey was named the lone finalist for the superintendent’s position at the Class 4A Bridgeport school district north of Fort Worth. There is a state-required, 21-day waiting period before that decision can become final on June 12. Mr. Peavey said he is very appreciative of the opportunity that Hardin school district has afforded him. He also said there are some wonderful people and great kids who are part of the Hardin school district. Again, following Brandon Peavey’s resignation from Hardin ISD, the Hardin school board has hired Bob Parker to serve as interim superintendent while trustees search for the district’s next top administrator. Mr. Peavey said he will be working with Mr. Parker during coming days to ensure a smooth transition.
