Historic Clock Stolen
The Liberty County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help locating a historic clock stolen in Daisetta. Sheriff’s Captain Ken DeFoor reports that town clock hung on the front of the old Taff Insurance Agency building at 405 Main Streetin Daisetta. It was stolen sometime during the daylight hours of Wednesday, March 8, to Saturday, March 11. The clock, thought to be about 80 years old, is described as being approximately 24 inches across the front with a white face and black numbers in a metal casing. It was encircled by a white neon light that was non-functional at the time of the theft. The family who owns the building and the clock is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the recovery of the stolen clock. In addition to the reward offered by the family, Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the theft.
