A reminder - there’s still time to get your ticket for this Thursday night’s 91st Annual Men’s Brotherhood Banquet at First United Methodist Church of Liberty. We’ve reported this year’s keynote speaker is two-time Radio and Television Hall of Fame Broadcaster Matt Patrick. A conservative and 32-year veteran of radio, Mr. Patrick says he deeply believes in protecting and defending the Constitution. He has been a radio personality in Ohio, New York, Indiana and Texas, and he’s currently heard on KTRH 740 am in Houston. Matt Patrick has three children and lives in Katy with his wife, Paula, and their family. The local men’s Brotherhood Banquet was first held in 1927 and has continued - without interruption – since then. The national Brotherhood Week did not begin until several years after the first men’s event here in Liberty. That makes this storied Libertygathering the oldest continuously held event of its kind in America. The banquet is recognized for that distinction on a state historical marker in front of the church on Main Streetin Liberty. Once more, men of all faiths are invited to the 91st Annual Men’s Brotherhood Banquet this Thursday at 7 p.m.in Fellowship Hall at First United Methodist Church of Liberty. Keynote speaker is conservative radio talk show host Matt Patrick of Houston. Tickets for the traditional turkey and dressing banquet are $10 and available from the church office or from any member of the Methodist Men’s Bible Class. You can call 936-336-6401. Sponsors say they also will try to have a small number of tickets on sale at the door Thursday night.
