LISD Board Sign Ups
A fourth person has signed up to run for the Liberty Independent School District board of trustees. Yesterday morning, Debbie Beasley filed to run for the two years remaining on the three-year Position 4 term. That place is currently held by Liberty school board President Lloyd Pierce. He announced his resignation last Tuesday effective upon installation of his replacement. As we’ve already reported, Position 1 incumbent Patty Watson has signed up to run for another three-year term. Then, newcomer D-Ann Berry has filed for the Position 5 race on the LISD Board. Place 5 incumbent Brandon Smith has told KSHN that, at this time, he does not plan to seek another term. Malcom Goudeau Jr. has filed for the two years remaining on the unexpired term of the late June Jackson, who passed away in March of last year. He was appointed to that open Position 7 seat in May 2016. Those interested in running for the Libertyschool board can signup through February 17th weekdays from 8 a.m.to 4 p.m.in the administration building at 1600 Grand Avenue.
