Woman Identified

Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said the woman whose body was found in Wallisville has been identified.  We reported yesterday a woman was found in Wallisville after a 9-1-1 call led authorities to a home off Pine Hallow. However Sheriff Hawthorne said the woman was likely killed in Comal County, Texas.  Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne reports that her name Jennifer Morgan Rivers, 33 of the Canyon Lake, Texas area. She has been positively identified as the female found dead in Wallisville. Preliminary investigation reveals the 33 year old woman died from an apparent gunshot wound. Sheriff Hawthorne said it appears the deadly assault occurred in a recreational vehicle trailer in Comal County, Texas, at a camp ground located on the Guadalupe River. Two have been arrested, they are Daniel Jeremy Heredia, - 25 of Wallisville. He was arrested and charged with a first degree felony murder. He is being held without bond. The second suspect is William Joseph Griffin, a 22 year old Anahuac man. Griffin has been arrested and charged with tampering or fabricating physical evidence. That’s a second degree felony. That suspect is being held on $35,000.00 bond.  Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne told KSHN radio the investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, with assistance from the Comal County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers.  If you have any information regarding the case, please contact the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office at 409-267-2500 or Chambers County Crime stoppers at 844-860-8477.
