Arson Arrest

A Tarkington man remains in the Liberty County jail charged with arson. Jeremy Ewing-age 39, is accused of setting a fire at his parent’s house last Friday. Not only that but there were also two more fires at houses he lived in the past two years. According to Liberty County Fire Marshal Bill Hergemuller the most recent fire where Ewing’s parents reside the fire started in a linen closet. The fire marshal said Jeremy Ewing was the only person home when the fire started. The state fire marshal came to Liberty County Monday of this week to assist in the investigation. Also assisting in the case is the Liberty County District Attorney’s Office and the Liberty County Attorney’s office. Liberty County Deputies arrested Ewing and placed him in the Liberty County Jail. A bond of 30,000 dollars has been set and, as of news time, Jeremy Ewing of Tarkington remains in the Liberty County Jail charged with arson.
