AUDIO: Sheriff speaks about Liberty woman killed in Chambers Co.

We have reported a Liberty woman, Christine Rollins was attacked by feral hogs and killed by  feral hogs – The victim was, Christine Rollins -59 of Liberty. She was attacked in the Anahuac area of Chambers County. Its one of the most disturbing incidents we have reported on KSHN. Our search indicates this may have occurred only six times- now seven times in US history. We asked a question that so far no one has answered, mainly since these attacks are fatal to humans so rarely. Since the hogs, that attacked Christine Rollins of Liberty have not been found – the question we hope to find an answer to, is that specific attacking hog more likely to be a danger to other humans because of this attack. If you missed other reports. Ms. Rollins worked as a caretaker for an  elderly couple near Anahuac. The man who was expecting her went outside and found Ms. Rollins, deceased, in the front yard.  The medical examiner  determined her death resulted from an attack by Feral Hogs. Chambers Co. Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said it was a terrible scene.

Sheriff Hawthorne is sure the hogs are still on the lose. Traps have been set but to no avail.  There have only been 6 such fatal cases in recorded history by feral hogs. We did learn that in NON-FATAL attacks 412 of them have been recorded, mostly in Texas, impacting 665 victims. On time a woman jogging in a Ft. Worth park was attacked and killed. Now with this local case, there have been 7 fatal hog attacks in history.
