Liberty's Independence Day celebration July 3

Next Wednesday evening, July 3rd the city of liberty will hold their annual Independent day celebration and fireworks show at the Liberty Municipal Park.  Held on the day before the official holiday, this event allows for families to attend larger celebrations or go out of town for the holiday.  Starting at 6 p.m. at the covered basketball pavilion there will be an inflatable obstacle course and bounce houses as well as free face painting. The Liberty Police and Fire Departments will be there with their trucks and cars on display, and, for those who come hungry, food will be available for sale as a fundraiser for the Liberty Youth Baseball All Star Girls Teams.  Starting at 7 p.m. as always there will be musical entertainment, this year by Jason West and West of the trinity band.  At nine, a short program with the boy scouts presenting the American and Texas flags.  Liberty Mayor Carl Pickett will make some brief remarks, and at roughly 9:15 or dark thirty, the big fireworks display explodes over the skies of Liberty.  It’s all free courtesy of the city of Liberty and held at the Liberty Municipal Park but it can be seen far and wide all across Liberty and from some locations in Dayton.  The event will also be broadcast live on KSHN 99.9 FM and www.kshn.com.
