Second victim dies from last Wednesday's shootings

Another victim in last Wednesday morning’s shootings in North Liberty County has died. Justice of the Peace Pct. 6 Ralph Fuller reports David Grubb of Cleveland passed away Saturday at Conroe Medical Center. We have reported 61-year-old Toni Kelly of Hockley was also shot last week at B Dependable Plumbing on State Highway 321. She died at the scene. Another man, Chris Grubb of Cleveland, remains hospitalized in unknown condition with a gunshot wound. He is the brother of David Grubb who died Saturday. As we reported yesterday, Liberty County Sheriff’s Deputy Richard Whitten remains in Memorial Hermann Hospital. He was shot in the neck and spine, very near his carotid artery, when confronting the shooter at the nearby Big Thicket Veterinarian Clinic, also on S.H. 321. Deputy Whitten’s family reports he is in serious but stable condition making progress. The shooter – identified as Pavol “Paul” Vido – reportedly died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound last Wednesday afternoon after being surrounded by law enforcement at a property near the two businesses.
