Hardin City Hall closed after secretary quits

Residents of the City of Hardin may find it difficult to conduct city business since, as of last report, Hardin City Hall is closed. Information indicates the closure of the Hardin City Offices is due to the resignation of Hardin City Secretary Lana Webb. We were unable to reach Hardin Mayor Stephanie Blume but Hardin Mayor Pro Tem Anthony Landry said Ms. Webb’s resignation was unexpected. At this time, Mr. Landry said Hardin City Council is trying to locate a temporary replacement for Lana Webb, but did not know how long that might take. Mr. Landry said Hardin City Council members have been rotating shifts at Hardin City Hall so the doors are closed all the time. The Hardin Mayor Pro Tem said he did not have information on what days or hours that is being done. A sign on the Hardin City Hall Door says, “This office is closed due to unforeseen situations beyond our control. Should you need immediate assistance please call a council member or the Mayor. You can visit our web site to pay your sewer bill or call the 800 number provided on the web site at payclix.com or you may use the drop box at city hall. If you have an emergency please refer to our web site www.hardintexas.com." So, again Hardin City Hall is closed, apparently indefinitely following what is described as the unexpected resignation of Hardin City Secretary Lana Webb. We have called the Hardin City Hall number several times, but there is no answer and no answering machine to leave a message.
