The East Chambers boys’ basketball season came to an end last Thursday when the Buccaneers lost their state Class 3A semi-final game to the Brock Eagles 58-49. The Buccaneers finished their season with a 31-3 overall record. This year’s East Chambers basketball team included eight seniors – Jayce Guillory, Rodkale Ceaser, Derek DeMoss, Peyton Bertrand, Max Melancon, Kordell David, Tyrone White and Isaiah Crawford. Also playing for the Buccaneers were juniors Kameron Smith, Trent Guidry, Zion Broussard, Christian Semien, Alejandro Lopez and Nolton Shelvin. Rounding out the squad was sophomore Ernest Caesar. Their coach is Todd Sutherland. It was the fifth state tournament appearance in the program’s history.
