Dayton UDC Open House set for Jan. 17

The 5th Open House for the City of Dayton’s Unified Development Code Plan will be held on January 17th at 6 p.m. at the Dayton Community Center. As in previous open houses, the city is seeking public input on planned development code changes. Dayton officials are planning to streamline the city’s current list of building ordinances and introduce what they are calling a form of “light” zoning in anticipation of growth both residential and commercial in the city. Dayton City Manager Theo Melancon said turnout for these meetings has been good in the past and encourages everyone to take part in the conversation about development code changes coming to the city of Dayton. We have reported if all goes as scheduled, the final Unified Development Code Plan is expected to be ready for Dayton City Council consideration in March. Again the next open house on Dayton’s Unified Development Code is set for Thursday January 17th at 6 p.m. The Dayton Community Center is at 801 South Cleveland Street in Dayton.  For information call the Dayton Community Development Corporation at 936 257 0055.
