Liberty sanitary sewer projects

We have reported on the millions of dollars in renovations to the city of Liberty’s sanitary sewer system currently underway. Liberty City Manager Tom Warner said some of those projects are more visible than others. For example, one that is hard to miss is the work replacing sewer lines on Hwy 90 near Auto Zone. Mr. Warner said the sewer line to be replaced is too deep underground for traditional methods, so crews are doing what is called micro-tunneling. He said another visible sanitary sewer project is on Hwy 146 at Industrial Drive. The work there is part of the project to rehab the city’s lift stations. City Manager Tom Warner said in all the city is spending around $5.3 million dollars on sanitary sewer system upgrades while another $6 million is to be spent on water system projects.
