LDRMC converts to digital record system

We reported a few months back on the Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center’s transition to a huge electronic medical record storage and updating system. The system is now fully in use to provide digital patient record keeping. Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center Administrator Matt Thornton said the new system also allows the local hospital’s the ability to access patient data quickly. Hospital Administrator Matt Thornton said the local hospital – like every other hospital – is required to keep a staggering amount of data on file to meet accountability requirements for numerous regulatory agencies. Mr. Thornton said hospital staff members spent months training on the digital system with their electronic health record company Cerner. In spite of all the many changes in patient services and new equipment additions to the hospital, Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center Administrator Matt Thornton said the changeover from paper to digital information record keeping is the most significant change at the local hospital since he took over the top job there in December 2015.
