Sheriff's office seeks tips on Kenefick burglary

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help with information on who may have burglarized the Kenefick Dollar Store Thursday. Liberty County Sheriff’s Captain Ken DeFoor said during the early hours Thursday morning, a lone burglar gained entry to the Dollar Store located 3625 on FM 1008 in Kenefick by breaking the front glass door with a large rock. This was around 2:03 yesterday morning. Nothing appeared to have been stolen and security camera footage indicates the suspect was inside the store for only about a minute. Captain DeFoor said the security cameras show a white male suspect, wearing a blue jean pants with the pants legs tucked inside high top boots. The suspect was also wearing a medium blue “Ike” style jacket and light blue baseball cap. That cap had black lettering across the front and left side of the cap bill. The burglary suspect was also wearing a yellow and black bandana over his face and had dark colored gloves. The Dollar Store burglary suspect was carrying a gray colored bag but did not appear to have any stolen property in the bag when he left through the same broken glass area that he used to gain entry. Investigators continue to review video recordings from several different cameras but welcome any additional information that could help identify the burglar. Anyone with information is asked to call the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office at 936 336 4500 or the Multi County Crime Stoppers organization at 800 392 7867.
