Sam Houston Center guidelines for private donations

The fully renovated Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center Museum is now open to the public on FM 1011 in far North Liberty. For those who have ever wondered if the historic records or artifacts in their own possession might have a home at the center, Sam Houston Center Manager Alana Inman said they do accept private donations. However, the material must meet some basic criteria, mainly it must relate to the history of the 10 county area served by the Sam Houston Center. Ms. Inman said those are Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Newton, Orange, San Jacinto, Polk and Tyler Counties. The Sam Houston Center accepts donations of state and local government records, newspapers, photographs, maps, artifacts and manuscripts – all having historical significance to the ten county area served by the center.
