Today news is MOSTLY TVE youth livestock results:
TVE Commercial Heifers: Judging for the 2019 class of commercial heifers came on Tuesday. Bringing home the Grand Champion Commercial Heifer – American, was Ethan Richardson of Hardin FFA. Then capturing second place with the Reserve Champion Heifer- American was Skyler Wagner of Dayton FFA. Then in the Commercial Heifer division from All Other Breeds, Grand Champion honors went to the heifer raised by Lacey Tinney of Tarkington Jr FFA, while Logan Chachere of Dayton FFA showed reserve champion heifer - all other breeds. The top 20 commercial heifers will be auctioned off to the highest at Friday’s youth livestock auction.
Market Lambs: The Grand Champion Market Lamb in Monday’s judging was shown by Tanner Schaeffer, 2nd place or reserve Champ was the lamb shown by Carson Schaeffer – both with Barbers Hill FFA. The top 5 market lambs will go to sale on Friday.
TVE Goats: Earlier this week on Monday, judging was held for this year’s market goats at the TVE. Grand Champion Market Goat was shown by Maggie Stephenson of Anahuac 4H. While Reserve market goat was that of Dawson Lott Mid-County 4H. 15 goats will go to Friday’s sale.
Market Swine: Grand Champion Market Swine was shown at the Trinity Valley Exposition by Presley Condra of the Tarkington Jr. FFA. The Reserve market pig was that of Skylar Dzanski - Dayton FFA. In the Lightweight Division, Grand Champion Swine went to Seth Sterns - Liberty FFA. Reserve champion was raised by Taylor Dzanski - Dayton 4-H. The medium weight division title winner goes to Presley Condra Tarkington Jr FFA the Reserve went to Kaden Vance. Heavyweight Division saw Skylar Dzanski - Dayton FFA take the Championship, while the pig shown by Teal Kraehnke of East Chamber Jr FFA earned reserve championship honors. In showmanship the Senior Grand Championship went to Reagan McCawley of Barbers Hill FFA. Jelani Fontenot - East Chambers FFA took showmanship honors in Intermediate Grand Champion Swine. Junior Grand Champion Swine Showmanship goes to Sarah Albus of Barbers Hill 4-H
Downtown Improvement: Chris Jarman Liberty Assistant City Manager said, on a recent party line program a project the Liberty Community Development Corporation has begun is to improve the aesthetics of downtown Liberty. That effort starts with commercial building exterior improvements. If their application is accepted the LCDC will match downtown commercial building owners dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000 from then LCDC for exterior improvements.
