Baby Parade: Over 20 entries and a beautiful day made for a fabulous Trinity Valley Exposition Baby Parade this past Saturday. Lots of cute characters from the world of both the big and small screen came to life Saturday for the annual TVE Baby Parade. This year’s theme was “Hollywood”, and the judges really had their work cut out. The judge’s choice for specialty awards were as follows: best costume went to the Large Float “Classic Hollywood”, Best Overall also went to “Over the Rainbow”. The local parade is the longest, continuously held event of its kind in the country. The tradition continues next year when the Baby Parade’s theme will be “The 50 States”. A new rule for next year, no duplications, so start making plans now to participate. Don’t forget, you can still see some of this year’s great baby parade entries at Wednesday’s TVE Opening Day Parade.

Liberty County has appointed Hardin Fire Chief Craig Powell as assistant county fire marshal to help County Fire Marshal Bill Hergemueller, who the judge said was doing an excellent job working with the various volunteer departments.
