New County Software: The Liberty County Clerks office is getting new records management software. Liberty County Commissioners approved the new Tyler Eagle software on Tuesday. County Clerk Lee Haidusek Chambers said the new software will have an initial cost of $143,000 and then $80,678 annually after that. One new feature will be the ability to order and print certified copies online. That could eliminate multiple trips to the courthouse for the public. Mrs. Chambers said she expects the software to be up and running in 9-12 months.
Women’s Health Fair: On October 5th, there will be a Women's Health Fair at Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center with FREE cancer screenings and health education. What’s known as See, Test & Treat offers free screenings for both cervical and breast cancer. To register for the Women’s Health Fair - Dial 936-336-7316 - extension 124. There will be free blood pressure, Cholesterol, glucose tests and Vision Screening. They also will offer mammograms specifically for underinsured and uninsured women. The Women's Health Fair at Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center will also offer health education resources. The Women’s Health Fair is Saturday October 5th starting at 7:30 until 2 PM at the Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center on North Travis in Liberty.
Macho Bingo: There are individual tickets available for this Saturday’s Macho Bingo, benefiting the Bridgehaven Children’s Advocacy Center of Liberty and Chambers Counties. Inspired by the popularity of the Annual Purse Bingo fundraiser that’s geared toward women, Bridgehaven’s Macho Bingo is aimed at men. However, women are welcome, too. Ten person table reservations are $600. Individual tickets are also now available for $50. Admission includes dinner plus 20 games of bingo for macho prizes plus one bonus prize. For more information or to reserve a table, call Bridgehaven during office hours at 936-258-0400.
