Sewer Overflow due to Rain: As a result of heavy rain September 18, from 9 am to September 19 at 10 am; the City of Dayton has estimated 111,000 gallons of sanitary sewage overflowed into Linney Creek. Appropriate government officials and the TCEQ regional office have been notified and appropriate documentation/records supplied. Clean-up activities of the overflow area have already been completed. Best estimates from the National Weather Service is that Dayton received about 27 inches of rain during that period. According to a release from the City Public Information office the overflow did not affect the Dayton’s fresh water supply. For more info contact the Dayton City Public Works Department at 936-258-2354.

Homeowners in Chambers County are encouraged to call 409-267-2441 to report Tropical Storm Imelda damage. In Liberty County, in the rural areas should call the Liberty County Emergency Management Office at 936 334 3219. In Chambers County, citizens are advised to bring their debris to county box sites. In Chambers County please note – removal of this debris is not happening yet, but removal will begin as soon as possible. There remains a curfew in areas of Chambers County, specifically for Hankamer and Winnie areas. This curfew will remain in place until further notice.
