Search efforts resumed Monday in a wooded area where human remains were found last week. Investigators with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by Texas Rangers searched the Moss Bluff area on CR 133N in the Southern portion of the county. The day-long search research resulted in recovery of several additional human remains as well as assorted other pieces of useful pieces of evidence. All evidence will be turned over to the forensic lab in Jefferson County for DNA testing. This investigation is on-going. Anyone with information is asked to call the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office at (936) 336-4500 or call the Multi-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392 STOP. Callers to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous.
It’s hot, but in the local schools, kids are already out working on the various extra curricular activities. Hardin ISD Superintendent Gerald Nixon said Hardin students are working now to be ready for the upcoming school year. Hull Daisetta’s top administrator Tim Bartram said extra curricular activities in his district is working through summer. He added, for those who may be thinking about getting involved in any activity, there are lots of school organizations to join. National Weather Service is predicting high temperatures over the coming days for this area. The Texas Department of Health and Human services warns heat can create serious health problems. Usually the elderly, the very young, the sick and those without access to air conditioning are severely affected by heat. Check on children often, especially if they are playing outside in high temperatures.
