Computer Safety Seminar: Dayton Police Department is teaming up with Bridgehaven Children’s Advocacy Center and Dayton ISD to hold a computer safety seminar next Tuesday, June 11, at 6 p.m., in the police department on S.H. 321. This class is designed for adults to learn ways to protect their children from online sexual predators. Dayton Police Chief Rob Vine stressed this event is not for children and it will contain very frank discussions on the dangers children face on the internet. Shooting Victim Dies: Another victim in last Wednesday morning’s shootings in North Liberty County has died. Justice of the Peace Pct. 6 Ralph Fuller reports David Grubb of Cleveland passed away Saturday at Conroe Medical Center.
LISD Bookmobile: Liberty school district’s Bookmobile is making its summer rounds with stops on Monday through Thursday of each week now through July 24. In addition to visits to local daycares, churches and parks, the bookmobile will also stop at Liberty Middle School and San Jacinto Elementary. For a full list of times and locations, go to the Liberty school district’s website. Just remember – drop by any of the stops, get a book, enjoy a free snow cone and signup to win door prizes to be given away at the end of the summer.
Fine Arts Exp: The Fine Arts Society of Liberty, Texas – also known as FASOLT - invites the community to ‘Fine Arts Expo’ set for Saturday, June 15. The annual expo will showcase local performing artists, visual artists, authors and musicians. The visual arts exhibit is from 4 to 7 p.m. that Saturday, June 15, in the FLNB Corner meeting room across Travis Street from the main bank building on Sam Houston in Liberty.
