Former Investigator Arrested: A former Liberty County sheriff’s investigator is facing a charge of Making a False Report to a Peace Officer. Christopher Lee Ungles, 38, turned himself in at the Liberty County Jail Tuesday. He is now free on a personal recognizance bond on that Class B misdemeanor charge. Ungles was terminated by the sheriff’s office in January. The allegation stems from a single-vehicle, ATV accident on CR 432 back in December. The accident was investigated by DPS. The driver of the ATV – said to be Jacob Collin Robison, 31, of Dayton – reportedly fled before DPS arrived. Three passengers – one adult and two juveniles – were injured, but everyone survived. During the course of the DPS investigation, Christopher Ungles allegedly made a false statement to troopers to help out a friend. Jacob Robison’s wife – 30-year-old Caitlyn Robison – was also arrested for Making a False Report to a Peace Officer. She is free on a $1,500 bond. As for Jacob Robison, he was indicted in April by a Liberty County Grand Jury on two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. At last report, he had not been arrested on those charges.
