Rendition Forms Due April 1: Here is an important reminder for business owners to render their taxable property by Monday, April 1, or file an extension to avoid costly penalties. The Liberty County Central Appraisal District mailed out those forms, along with instructions, back on January 25. To render is to list taxable inventory, furniture, fixtures, machinery, equipment and other property that a business owned or managed as a January 1, 2019. Those who are not ready to file their rendition can file, by April 1, a request for an automatic extension until May 1 without penalty. For more information, call the Liberty County C.A.D. in Liberty at 936-336-5722. You can link to the district’s website from kshn.com.

Freedom Ride & Chili Cookoff: The Liberty Freedom Ride for bicyclists, benefiting the Liberty ISD Education Foundation, is set for Saturday, April 13. In coordination, the Liberty Rotary Club will hold its annual Chili Cookoff on that same day. The non-profit LISD Education Foundation was established in 2007 to fund innovative teaching ideas on the district’s four campuses that go beyond the district’s operating budget. The Chili Cookoff will fund scholarships for local students. For more information or to become a Freedom Ride sponsor, call Bruce Wright at 936-641-0367.
