Fundraisers for Orphaned Kids: Two fundraisers are being organized to help four orphaned children of an Anahuac man and woman who authorities say died in a murder-suicide on Christmas Eve. Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said his deputies responded to a home on FM 2041 in Anahuac back on December 24. Their initial investigation indicates that 26-year-old Dominique Schliske was shot in the head while asleep. Detectives believe 28-year-old Matthew Allen Kline then turned the gun on himself. Now, members of the Anahuac community are organizing a fundraiser to help the couple’s children – said to be ages 3, 6, 7 and 8. First, there is a community garage sale set for Saturday, January 12, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fort Anahuac Park. Then, on Saturday, January 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., there is another benefit at Bayside Wellness Center on Main Street in Anahuac. That benefit will include live entertainment along with bowls of gumbo, a cake walk and a silent auction.
