Dayton Industrial Growth: We have reported on plans by chemical company Oleon Americas to locate a manufacturing facility and corporate headquarters in Dayton. Oleon has construction planned for 2020 inside Dayton’s Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone on Hwy 146 South. Dayton officials say Oleon is just the start, since there are several other industrial prospects interested in locating facilities in Dayton. Dayton Community Development Corporation Executive Director Courtland Holman said his office has given several tours of various Dayton facilities to representatives of these industries in the past weeks. DCDC’s Courtland Holman said industrial prospects include more chemical companies, as well as steel, aluminum and plastics manufacturers.
Stop the Bleed: In the same way the public has in recent years learned of the life saving importance of cardio pulmonary resuscitation, the nationwide Stop the Bleed campaign hopes to spread their message about responding to bleeding emergencies. As with CPR, Stop the Bleed is aimed at informing the public about the same need for fast action during a bleeding emergency before EMS arrives. City of Liberty Fire Chief Bryan Hurst said his department is involved in providing Stop the Bleed training and information. Chief Hurst said a tourniquet is easy to apply but it must be done quickly since massive blood loss can lead to death in minutes. To find out more about Stop the Bleed, contact Misty Delaney the City of Liberty EMS at 936 336 3922 or visit
