Imaging: The Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center continues to work on updating diagnostic imaging services available there. That includes state-of-the-art computer tomography commonly known as C. T. or CAT scan. Hospital Executive Director Matt Thornton said the CAT Scan machine the local hospital has now is great for their needs. Director Matt Thornton said the time between when a patient enters the local hospital for a CAT scan and when that patient’s doctor has the results of that test, averages about an hour.
Former President George H. W. Bush: Gov. Greg Abbott Governor of State of Texas asks that all Texas and U.S. flags be lowered to half staff in honor and respect of the life and public service of former President George Herbert Walker Bush. Flags should remain at half-staff for 30 days from today and should be returned to full-staff by sun up Monday, December 31. Gov. Abbott said, and we quote: “On behalf of Texas, the First Lady and I offer our thoughts and prayers to the Bush family. I urge all Texans to appropriately remember President Bush’s life of service to our nation and to the state of Texas.”
LISD Education Foundation: The Liberty ISD Education Foundation is selling raffle tickets to fund their great foundation effort. These Handbag Raffle tickets are $100 and each ticket gives the bearer a chance to win up to 52 designer handbags with an average value of $400 each. The LISD Education Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of students in Liberty ISD schools. Only 500 tickets will be sold. Every ticket holder has 52 chances to win one or more designer handbags. Monetary donations can also be made on the web site,
Mobile Health Clinic: TAN Health Care is offering more mobile medical clinics in Batson and Raywood this month. There will be a mobile health clinic on Tuesday December 4th at New Life Assembly of God Church in Batson. That will be from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Then, TAN Health’s mobile clinic will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Raywood on Thursday December 13th, also from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. TAN accepts private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and offers a sliding payment scale for those who are uninsured.
