Commissioners: Liberty County Commissioners made quick work of Tuesday’s agenda. Among the items for consideration was the disposal of 28 cars and trucks. Twenty are used Liberty County Sheriff’s Department vehicles. The other eight were seized in connection with criminal activities and then awarded to the sheriff’s office through court proceedings. During Tuesday’s meeting, commissioners renewed an agreement with a company known as Auto Title and Registration Consultants to auction off vehicles on behalf of the county. Commissioners then approved disposing of the 28 vehicles at an auction on December 8.

Hospital Wait Time: When it comes to medical care, time is an important factor. Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center Administrator Matt Thornton said that’s not just in regard to life threatening emergencies but in all patient care. He said the local medical facility has overall shorter wait times for patients to see medical providers than other hospitals in this area. Mr. Thornton said what many do not realize is that only a small number of patients are transferred to other facilities from Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center. In fact, the administrator said 94% of the local hospital’s patients are treated and released from the Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center.
