Traffic Study: Liberty City Council met Tuesday and approved an action by the Liberty Community Development Corporation to participate in a comprehensive traffic study for Liberty County. The study will be conducted by the Houston-Galveston Area Council and will cost $500,000. Liberty City Manager Tom Warner said H-GAC will cover $450,000 of that cost with Liberty County providing the $50,000 matching funds. Liberty County commissioners are proposing to pay $20,000 toward that match with the economic development corporations of Liberty, Dayton and Cleveland being asked to provide local match amounts of $10,000 each. The LCDC committed the $10,000 for Liberty’s match. No word yet on if Dayton and Cleveland’s economic development arms will also provide funding to the countywide traffic study.
