TVE Auction: The 2018 TVE Youth Livestock Auction is history, and the final total, without add-ons, is a stunning $410,634. That’s an increase of $121,258 over last year. Friday’s sale brought a solid payday for hardworking Liberty and Chambers County youth. Tanner Lott with Mid-County 4-H had this year’s Grand Champion Market Steer. The steer sold to Liberty Materials for $23,000. This year’s Reserve Champion Market Steer was shown by Kade Goodwin with Hardin FFA. That reserve champion steer also sold to Liberty Materials. The price was $10,000. Numbers are still coming in, but TVE officials say this year’s auction and freezer sale, with add-ons, may top the previous record of $520,000 set back in 2014.

The Dayton Broncos remain winless after a loss to Port Neches-Groves. That score was PNG 44, Dayton 37. Barbers Hill is now 5-2 overall after defeating Vidor 49-34. The now 5-2 Hull-Daisetta Bobcats downed Deweyville 37-14. Hardin is 6-1 overall after squeaking past Orangefield 22-20. In other Friday night action, Shepherd topped Tarkington 38-13 while Montgomery rolled past Cleveland 52-21. It was Woodville dominating Anahuac 52-10, and East Chambers beating Kirbyville 49-28.
