Liberty Tax Rate: The Liberty City Council met Tuesday and officially adopted the city’s new 2018-19 Fiscal Year property tax rate. Liberty council approved lowering the city’s property tax rate from the current 61 cents per $100 of assessed property value down to 58.5 cents per $100 of value. Increased property values mean the city will take in more revenue in the coming fiscal year even though the tax rate is lower. We reported that tax rate will help fund the $35.3 million 2018-19 Fiscal Year budget adopted by Liberty City Council back on September 11.
