Shooting: A 44-year-old woman has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon following a Friday night shooting at a home on County Road 2279 south of Cleveland. Liberty County Sheriff’s Captain Ken DeFoor said the woman, identified as Jessica Tullos, called 9-1-1 to report she had shot 56-year-old Richard Dale Morris following a physical altercation. Morris was in critical condition when he was taken by LifeFlight air ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, but there is no update on his latest condition. Jessica Tullos was booked into Liberty County Jail. She was released Saturday after posting a $35,000 bond.

Hunters Ed: A Texas Parks and Wildlife Hunters Education Class will be offered Saturday, Oct. 6, in the Dayton Community Center. Hunters in Texas, born on or after September 2, 1971, must successfully complete a state-mandated Hunter Education Training Course to be licensed. Cost of the class is $15, and it’s open to those 9 years old and above. To register, go online to www.tpwd.texas.gov.
