Liberty-Dayton Chamber 500: The Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Steak Dinner, Auction and 500 Drawing was another success. Although the official dollar tallies are not available, Chamber President Mary Anne Campbell said the gala drew a large crowd to the Dayton Community Center and she believes it was also a big success as a Chamber fund raiser. Of course, one of the highlights of the night is the 500 drawing. This year saw a first – husband and wife John and Agnes Carter teamed up to win the top two prizes in the reverse drawing. John’s ticket was the next to last one plucked from the barrel, and he won a new John Deere lawn tractor. Agnes’ ticket was the final ticket drawn, so she gets the $5,000 in gold coins.
