DISD Proof of Residency: Once again, Dayton ISD is hosting a series of residency verification events. So mark your calendars - those events are set for: Thursday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Tuesday, July 31, from 3 to 7 p.m.; and Wednesday, August 1, from 3 to 7 p.m. – all at Dayton High School. Parents of students who attended Dayton schools last school year and who will be attending again this coming school year need to bring proof of residency to one of those 3 events. New this year is an opportunity to make the process move faster by doing some paperwork online ahead of time. Parents will need to bring a current utility bill and photo ID. For info, call DISD at 258-2667 or go to the district’s web page - link there from kshn.com.

Golf Rates: Liberty City Council approved a fee schedule Tuesday for use of what will be the Liberty Municipal Golf Course. It will take effect once the sale of the Magnolia Ridge Country Club and Golf Course to the city is final. The closing on that sale is expected within the next few days. Officials say the fee schedule for using the golf course under the city’s ownership is very close to what the country club has been charging. Included in the fee list are annual rates, family rates and reduced rates for seniors over 65 years old.
