Weather Precautions: The National Weather Service is predicting more unseasonably hot temperatures this week and dangerous outdoor conditions are possible. Daytime temps in the mid-90’s combined with high relative humidity can produce heat index values in the triple digits. With that in mind, take precautions when outdoors. Another reminder - hurricane season starts this Friday, and the NOAA Climate Prediction Center is forecasting a near-normal to above-normal hurricane season. Experts remind coastal residents it only takes one hurricane making landfall nearby to make it an active season for them. With that in mind, coastal residents are urged to prepare now for that possibility. For helpful tips, supply lists and emergency preparation information, go to our homepage at kshn.com and click on disaster preparedness under the local information tab.
