Murder Charge: A 25-year-old Liberty man has been charged with murder following a deadly altercation early Sunday morning at the Crawfish Place on S.H. 61 near Anahuac. Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said Nicholas Cole Fregia was arrested in the death of 46-year-old Justin E. Berry of Anahuac. According to witnesses, words were exchanged between the two men and a fight ensued before it was broken up by other bar patrons and staff. Shortly after the first altercation, witnesses say Nicholas Fregia approached Justin Berry from behind, striking Mr. Berry on the right side of his head. The 46-year-old former U.S. Marine died after being transported by air ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Detectives were able to track the wanted man down to a motel in Cleveland, and Nicholas Fregia of Liberty was arrested and taken to the Chambers County Jail. Bail was set at $200,000.
