Liberty Jubilee: Liberty City Manager Gary Broz said the 33rd Annual Liberty Jubilee was a success, starting with Friday night’s street dance featuring two local favorites - Southern Breeze and West of the Trinity Band. Then, on Saturday, it was a day full of family fun with arts and crafts booths, a kids’ carnival area plus live music throughout the day. One of the popular Liberty Jubilee events each year is the barbecue cookoff. It was a strong showing for the team called Chevy Cookers. They claimed first place in three of the five categories – Chef’s Choice, Brisket and Margaritas. Then, in the Rib Eye Steaks division, it was Life Point taking the top spot. As for Ribs, first place went to the team named Brother-in-Laws.

The purpose of the community meeting is to discuss the city’s Downtown Revitalization Plan. That plan centers on efforts to preserve downtown Dayton as a hub for business and recreational activities. KSHN Easter Egg Hunt: KSHN Radio will host our 35th annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday morning at Liberty Municipal Park. The event is free for all kids 9 years old and younger. Scattered about the city park hunt area will be 5,000 plastic Easter eggs with candy inside. There will also be 90 plus prize eggs, and the kids who find these specially marked eggs can claim their prize right there at the park. In addition, there are three grand prize eggs in the hunt area. This year’s grand prizes include a Razor electric scooter and safety helmet. Another is a $75 gift card to Game Stop plus a stuffed bunny. The third grand prize will be an extra nice State Farm Insurance wagon from local agent Victor Barranco. The start signal is this Saturday at 10 a.m. in Liberty Municipal Park, but we recommend arriving earlier. Keep your radio tuned to FM 99.9 for instructions.
