Three Juveniles Charged: What is being called a terroristic threat was reported at Liberty Middle School on Wednesday. No one was harmed, and no weapons were present, as best we can determine. However, three LMS juveniles are facing third-degree felony charges. Given the time that we live in, school officials and police moved rapidly to investigate and deal with this case. In a statement on their website, the district said, “LISD treats every threat as a legitimate danger to students and employees. However, many threats turn out to be hoaxes or the student making the threat intended it as a joke. Liberty ISD does not take the position that student safety is a joking matter, and there will be serious consequences for those who make threats against our schools.” This case against the three Liberty Middle School students will be dealt with at the county level in the juvenile judge’s office – that would be County Judge Jay Knight.
