Horse Deaths: The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a second killing of a horse on a ranch in Raywood. Captain Ken DeFoor said the latest Palomino Quarter Horse was found shot Monday at the Brock Ranch on C.R. 184. Another palomino quarter horse, belonging to the Brock family, was killed there back in December. It is also notable that a similar incident occurred on Nov. 8. That’s when a pet pony named “Chicken Nugget” was found dead on the John Brett Ranch, located about eight miles from the scene of the two other horse killings. Anyone with information is urged to call the sheriff’s office at 936-336-4500. Anonymous tips can be reported to Multi-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-7867. Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible. The Brock family is offering another $1,000 for information, plus an anonymous donor is offering an additional $10,000 reward.
Capital Murder Arrest: Brandon Alejandro Flores, 23, of Dayton was taken into custody Wednesday at George Bush Intercontinental Airport after having been extradited from Mexico by the United States Marshal Service. Flores was arrested on two counts of Capital Murder by indictment of a Chambers County grand jury. He’s accused of the February 2015 murders of Alejandro Chavez, 18, and Jarvis Morgan, 17, both of Baytown. Two Baytown men were arrested back in mid-March 2015 on two counts of Capital Murder for their alleged part in that crime. Now Brandon Flores has been extradited from Mexico and also charged with the killings.
