Early Voting: Early voting gets under way today for the March 6 Republican and Democrat Primary Elections. Here in Liberty County, early voting is today through Friday, March 2. Early voting will be weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will also be early voting on Sunday, Feb. 25, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All early voting in Liberty County is at the following four locations: the Jack Hartel Community Building, 318 San Jacinto Street in Liberty; Cleveland Civic Center, 210 Peach Avenue in Cleveland; Dayton Community Center at 801 South Cleveland St. in Dayton; and Hardin City Hall, 142 County Road 2010 in Hardin. For voting information, call the Liberty County Clerk’s Office at 936-336-4670. Down in Chambers County, early voting also starts today and continues through Friday, March 2. Voting in Chambers County is weekdays, except Fridays, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with Friday voting hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Early voting in Chambers County is also at four locations: the main Courthouse Annex on S.H. 61 in Anahuac; the East Annex at 211 Broadway Ave in Winnie; the West Annex, 10616 Eagle Drive in Mont Belvieu; and the Cedar Bayou Community Building, 7711 S.H. 146 in Baytown. LCSO Grant: The National Rifle Association Foundation has awarded the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office a grant totaling $4,566 to fund an action target and ammunition for their gun range. Captain Ken DeFoor said the sheriff’s office requires deputies to practice with their firearms on a regular basis. He said that has resulted in an increase in firearms proficiency. Sheriff Bobby Rader said he gives credit to the firearms instructors and his employees who take the practice seriously.
AgriLife Job: The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Liberty County is looking for a part-time secretary.
