Flu on the Rise: With cases of the flu reported to be increasing across the state, the same can be said of the local area as well. Dr. Don Callens, with the Liberty Medical Surgical Clinic, said he has been seeing a lot more people with influenza recently. He said it appears there is one flu strain the vaccine is not effective against; however, he still recommends getting a flu shot since there are other strains out there the vaccine could protect against. For those who may have the flu, Dr. Callens suggests getting to your health provider quickly to get proper medication.
