Child Dies: Witnesses say 4-year-old Kade Contreras of Cleveland was playing either inside or on top of a tree house when the structure collapsed on Christmas Eve. The child was rushed to the Kingwood Medical Center then airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Cleveland School District Police Chief Rex Evans, acting as a spokesman for Kade’s family, said the child suffered critical head trauma and other injuries with most of the tree house landing on top of him. Chief Evans said the decision to take Kade off of life support was made Wednesday night. The child passed away shortly after, without ever regaining consciousness. Kade’s parents are Roy and Courtney Contreras and his grandparents are Neil and Linda Stuckey, all of Cleveland. Rex Evans said it has been determined the death was a tragic accident.
