Student Dies: The death of a Dayton Woodrow Wilson Junior High School student is being termed due to a “medical problem” though the exact cause is still unknown. Liberty County Sheriff’s Captain Ken DeFoor said, this past Friday evening, 11-year-old, sixth-grader Abigail Garcia called her mother and asked to be picked up at the school bus stop on CR 678 since she was feeling ill. The child was reported to be violently ill when she got off the DISD bus and was later unable to walk. She was transported by ambulance to a Houston hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Sheriff’s Captain Ken DeFoor said a preliminary autopsy found nothing suspicious about the 11-year-old girl’s death. Additional testing is being conducted to determine the exact cause of the Dayton sixth-grader’s death.
