FEMA Deadline: Tomorrow is the deadline to register for federal disaster assistance for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Liberty County Emergency Management Coordinator Tom Branch encourages anyone impacted by the storm who has not already signed up to do so by tomorrow’s deadline. That can be done online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by phone at 1-800-621-3362. Officials say registering online can be done without the waits that may be experienced on the telephone. FEMA encourages everyone impacted by Hurricane Harvey to apply for assistance, even if you have insurance. While FEMA does not provide resources for losses already covered by insurance, they may be still able to provide some assistance. That includes situations where your insurance settlement is insufficient to meet your disaster-caused needs.
