Tax Deadline Extension: The Internal Revenue Service is giving Texas Hurricane Harvey victims automatic extensions to file some individual and businesses tax returns as well as an extension to make some payments until January 31 of next year. The emergency extension applies to everyone with payments or filing deadlines pending between now and the end of 2017. The IRS is only offering these extensions to those who live in a declared Presidential Disaster Area. That includes Liberty and Chambers counties. It includes an extension until January 31, 2018, on any valid filing extensions that run out on October 16 of this year as well as businesses with filing extensions that ran out on September 15. To find out more, go to the Internal Revenue Service website at www.irs.gov.

The Hardin Lions offer all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, milk and coffee for $6. There will also be a silent auction as well as a pancake decorating contest. Proceeds benefit the many community activities supported by the Hardin Lions Club, including Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
