Attracting Industry: We’ve reported on projected commercial and population growth coming to the city of Dayton. Now, some serious industrial growth is expected as well. Dayton City Manager Theo Melancon said the city and Dayton Community Development Corporation are currently in talks with four separate industrial prospects interested in locating facilities in Dayton. He said, until plans are finalized, those industrial prospects want to remain anonymous, but the city manager is confident Dayton has become a very competitive location for international industrial prospects to consider.

Other board members are Brady Hanson, Cory Anderson, Donny Smith, Harvey Sjolander, Jim Bob Evans, Steve Green and Stoney Burk. TVE Kickoff Weekend begins Fri., Oct. 13. Wildlife Management: The Liberty County Master Gardener Association will host a Wildlife Management Tax Valuation Program tomorrow at 7 p.m. in the Jack Hartel Building in Liberty. Organizers say this free seminar is open to anyone interested in learning more about the state’s wildlife management program for landowners. For info, call Liberty County AgriLife Extension Agent Roy Flora at 936-334-3230.

TVE Fun Passes: Be aware - there is a limited number of TVE carnival fun passes still available. Those passes are $85 each and allow the bearer admission into the gate during the Trinity Valley Exposition as well as unlimited rides at the very popular Talley Amusements Carnival. We are told the TVE fairground office is already out of fun passes. However, while supplies last, you can still get those TVE fun passes at Cowboy Cleaners in Liberty, Dayton and Cleveland as well as Boot Barn and Modern Cleaners, both on Main Street in Liberty. For more information, call the TVE Office at 936-336-7455.
